How the calculator works
This calculator uses the modern Pythagorean-style A–Z table: A is 1 through I at 9, then J starts again at 1. It adds all accepted letters before reducing the total. Spaces, hyphens and apostrophes do not receive a value. Keep the displayed spelling beside the result so another person can reproduce the arithmetic. This is a transparent convention rather than a scientific test.
A complete worked example: MALIA ROSE
The fictional name MALIA ROSE gives MALIA = 4 + 1 + 3 + 9 + 1 = 18 and ROSE = 9 + 6 + 1 + 5 = 21. Add those unreduced subtotals: 18 + 21 = 39. Then 3 + 9 = 12 and 1 + 2 = 3. The calculator shows the same letter trail. A space between the words helps reading but does not alter the sum.
Which name should I use?
The expression-number tradition commonly starts with the full name at birth. You may explore another spelling or an everyday name, but label the calculation so you do not compare unlike inputs. A nickname and a full name can produce different totals simply because they contain different letters. You do not need to reveal a legal identity to try the tool: use the fictional example if you prefer.
Accents and letters outside A–Z
Myzodika removes combining accents, so É becomes E and Ñ becomes N. It also maps Æ to AE, Œ to OE, ß to SS, Ø to O, Ł to L, Đ and Ð to D, and Þ to TH. These are explicit software choices, not a universal rule for every language. Other scripts are rejected instead of partly discarded. Choose a Latin transliteration yourself and check the displayed spelling before interpreting a result.
Why do different calculators disagree?
First compare the exact spelling, then the alphabet table and finally the reduction rule. This tool totals all letters first. With the master-number option enabled, reduction stops at 11, 22 or 33; disabling it continues to a single digit. For example, 29 becomes 11 with the option and 2 without it. A method that reduces each name component separately can produce a different path. A Chaldean table is also a different system, not a translation of this one.
Name number versus life path number
A name number starts from letters; a life path number starts from a birth date. Equal results do not make the calculations interchangeable. For example, ANNA gives 1 + 5 + 5 + 1 = 12 → 3, while ANNE gives 1 + 5 + 5 + 5 = 16 → 7. Changing that last letter changes the name calculation, but it does not change a birth-date calculation. Keep both inputs and both methods visible when comparing them.
What can I use the result for?
Use it to learn the letter table, check arithmetic or begin an optional writing exercise. Write one quality you would like to practise, one action that would express it and one real observation you could review later. The number does not prove that you have that quality. It is not a reason to rename a child, alter a legal name or judge whether another person is a suitable partner. Decisions need information beyond this symbolic system.
Does changing my name change my life path number?
No. The life path calculation uses a birth date, not letters. A different spelling can change a name number only.
Do spaces and hyphens count?
No. In this tool only accepted letters receive values. The displayed spelling shows the actual calculation input.
Is the result stored?
This calculator keeps the input in the current page only. Use Clear my entry to remove the name and its displayed result.

The alphabet table and reduction rule are part of the input. Our Chaldean comparison keeps the spelling fixed, shows both totals and reduces both columns to one digit. MALIA ROSE gives 27 → 9 with the Chaldean table and 39 → 12 → 3 with the Pythagorean table. Different results do not make one a more accurate description of a person.
