A sign divides the zodiac into a sector. A house is part of a chart framework connecting sky positions with the local horizon or another house-system convention.
Understand the method
There are several house systems. Whole-sign houses assign a complete sign to each house starting with the rising sign. Other systems divide the chart differently, so placements can differ between calculators.
Use the information carefully
Before interpreting a house placement, check the birth time, location and selected system. An unknown time should not be disguised as a reliable house calculation.
Can a planet change house when I change settings?
Yes. Different systems can assign a planet to different houses while using the same astronomical longitude. That is a convention difference, not necessarily a calculation error.
