The four elements and three modalities are symbolic categories used to compare zodiac signs. They are not measured personality traits.
Understand the method
Fire, earth, air and water provide one set of themes. Cardinal, fixed and mutable provide another: initiating, sustaining and adjusting. Each sign combines one element with one modality.
Use the information carefully
Read a category as a question rather than a verdict. For example, a fixed sign can prompt you to ask what deserves consistency; it does not prove that a person is incapable of change.
Do matching elements prove compatibility?
No. An element comparison is a symbolic framework. A relationship depends on the people, their behavior, circumstances and mutual choices.
